The Winter Warm-Up Challenge is an 8-week FREE walking program open to everyone, designed to encourage regular physical activity and good nutrition with a goal to help improve the health and fitness of residents of Mid-Michigan.
Incentive
The community that logs the most miles over the course of the Challenge will receive the Grand Prize grant from Blue Cross Blue Shield to be used toward supporting an existing public health and fitness facility or event in the community.
A Few Ways to Participate
Take part in the coordinated walks at the Lansing Mall beginning January 21 through March 10, from 9-10 a.m. Each week there will be a theme such as “What should you wear and what equipment should you have? “Exercise on your own, keep track and record your miles/minutes online using the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) tracking tool. 2012 Kick-Off Event
This year’s kick-off event will be held at the Lansing Mall on Saturday, January 21 at 9 a.m. EVERYONE is encourage to attend.
Logging Physical Activity
Walking/physical activity will be tracked through a free online activity tool provided by BCBSM. If you have previously registered and participated in the WWU you will need to re-register this year as past program information has been cleared from the system.
