School Improvement Goals

Grand Ledge Schools shall provide diverse educational and enrichment opportunities of exemplary quality to help students perform at the highest level of their abilities such that they become life-long learners and productive contributors to their community.

       2010/2011 NEFF SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT GOALS

1.    Achievement
District Goal:  Every student will make at least one year’s growth in one year’s time.
Building Goal:  All students will continue to acquire/expand skills related to the foundations of reading (i.e. fluency, letter/word recognition, phonemic awareness,  vocabulary, and comprehension).                                                                                      
Performance monitoring includes but is not limited to teacher evaluation, and observation, DIBELS assessments given to all students (Sep. Jan. April).
2.    Instruction
District Goal:  Teachers and administrators will collaborate to find, use, and monitor effective instructional practices.  All employees will work to create and maintain a high performing organization.
Building Goal:  Establish a building school improvement team consisting of teacher representatives, and the building principal.  The primary focus of the team will be as follows:

1.    Facilitate twice-monthly grade level and/or staff meetings.

2.    Lead discussion/collaborative efforts on topics related to instruction and achievement such as:

-    Consistent instruction/outcomes across classrooms
-    Data reviews/analysis
-    Monitoring of student performance related to benchmarks, effectiveness of instructional strategies, and additional supports (i.e. interventions, pull-out services).
